If anything I'd assume the 100k USD psychological barrier could be a catalyst.

It's also entirely possible nothing will. Bitcoin already exploded in mainstream media last cycle, at this point it's old news, public interest might have already peaked.

Not necessarily a bad thing either, I'll take slow steady adoption and stable purchasing power of btc over big burst and fall any day, I don't really like how Bitcoin has become a speculative asset instead of actual currency with a well standardised layer 2.
