To answer the OP's question, anyone who's held alts (outside of BTC/ETH) without selling is still here. A lot of people bought alts back them and just held onto them. HODL really only applies to BTC and ETH. (SOL and BNB seem to be the few exceptions.)

Biggest mistakes out there:

1. Selling BTC and ETH

2. Holding and not selling any crypto outside of BTC, ETH, SOL and BNB

3. Not buying in bear markets, like during the pandemic
