Decreasing population might actually be a good thing for economic growth and productivity. It means we need to put more value on existing humans. We already have many people in the world that are malnourished, sick, unhoused, uneducated etc. These people are not really productive but if we invest in them then they will become productive. We will get economic growth because these people will move into the middle class.
