I feel like the “immigration solves everything with population” advocates really don’t think beyond a decade at most. It’s a short term solution and not a long term one.

Immigrants will match the local birth rate in a generation or two. Birth rates are still falling worldwide and will continue to as smaller countries develop. Unless you create perpetually unstable nations as a matter of policy (something morally horrendous), immigration will eventually dry up.

The solutions to the demographic time bomb are going to be ones that radically restructure society in unthinkable ways. Leaving behind the “forever growth” model, radical political and economic advantages given to people having children, unprecedented levels of government intervention into things like housing where they build and sell to those with families. Sci fi levels of tech leaps to every day Life.
