It's not really my concern whether it's my government or OpenAI's fault, the functionality (or lack of it) is what it is.

However, it is also the case that if OpenAI mucked up so much they need to remove the voice with 0 days notice, that is actually OpenAIs fault.

I do actually think the voice was a major attraction of the app - hence voting with my credit card.

I doubt the removal of the voice will be temporary, either.

I don't trust OpenAI on timelines either. When GPT4 was first released (March 2023?) they implied it was already a multimodal model with audio and visual, and demoed it as such, and that was never released at all. And in fact is still not released.
