I do think humans are fairly irrational on a lot of things. But if I spin it the other way, is a 5-8% increase substantial? If a 5-10% decrease is not that substantial, why should the 5-10% increase be substantial too?

I realise it’s more because consumers just hate inflation and the more ‘shoved in your face’ the inflation is, the bigger it feels, even if numerically it’s the same. But that’s just human behaviour sadly.
