The bigger question about what Trump would have done, I think, is if J6 ended up being a massacre. But not of the insurrectionists, but of members of Congress. Remember how AOC said she was convinced she would die that day? Some people roasted her over that, but she had every right to think that way.
Imagine the mob made it to members of Congress that day. If they wanted to hang *Pence*, a Republican, what would they do to people like AOC? I don't even want to imagine or describe it, but we all know how ugly it would have been before it was over.
So let's imagine a horrifying alternate reality where this happened. The mob was just slightly faster, or the guards slightly slower, and they get into the chambers and off, say, 1/3 of Congress in the chaos.
In this reality, does Donald Trump disavow these violent insurrectionists and gracefully concede the election to Biden? Well, since that didn't happen in *our* reality, there's no way it would happen in this one. Instead, I think he would have used the tragedy as his Reichstag fire to declare emergency powers and remain in office until he could "get to the bottom" of what happened. With the legislative branch in tatters, and SCOTUS captured by far-right radicals, I'm not certain if anyone could have stopped him.
