Thank you for actually commenting in a productive way. As a queer person, I don’t forgive his past, nor do I think that we should apologize / look past the butchering he has forced all of us to be complicit in just because he changed his public stance. He recently remarked, paraphrasing, that being a good leader means doing what is right even when it’s hard. What’s it called when a leader changes their public opinion to court votes, but then sends weapons knowing they will be purposefully used to kill civilians? Was that the hard choice?

Someone in this thread mentioned earlier that before his enlightenment regarding queer people’s rights to equality, he voted for several anti queer judges, didn’t push forward legislation that would have helped closed the inequality gap and propped up the status quo of “don’t ask, don’t tell.” If he is the great leader y’all are suggesting he is, why has he historically been so reluctant to do the hard things necessary to ensure equality?

What he hasn’t done speaks volumes louder than everything he has done. The bar was so SOOOO low for him, yet, he has failed epically to impress. The shit that has happened both at home and worldwide since he became president is pretty fucking dystopian. I’m not going to be convinced to vote for him bc the other guy will be more dystopian. That’s a shit pathetic argument and actually is insulting to your own candidate.
