This is probably an interpersonal problem, but is a new dynamic with GPT and I wonder if anyone else has a similar experience and maybe advice.
My boss is highly skilled and experienced and I regularly seek out their specialized input. Boss is also overwhelmed at work and looking for ways to be more efficient. Recently boss has taken to answering questions with "GPT says X".
Me: ' I did not ask what GPT says, I want YOUR educated opinion and of course I have already researched the matter before I came to you (including by using GPT myself)'
With this new dynamic, I don't actually get an answer from my boss, just a regurgitation of GPT. It would be ok if they used GPT to formulate THEIR response, but they do not "own" the response, they just state it... and avoid giving any opinion themselves. It feels like an attempt to avoid responsibility for difficult decisions. It would be better if they just told me directly that I was responsible for it.
Is anyone one else seeing this new dynamic with GPT?
